Removing barriers to care
Helping people adapt to life’s medical challenges by overcoming barriers to receiving care.
Life can change in an instant.
A sudden illness, the effects of aging, a disability, or the loss of a support system can make even routine medical care difficult to access. For many people, the greatest obstacle is not the medical condition itself—it is having the practical support needed to receive care.
At Adaptation, we believe that no one should have to postpone or cancel needed medical care because they lack someone to stand beside them.
Our mission is to help people adapt to life’s medical challenges by overcoming barriers to receiving care with dignity, compassion, and respect.
The name Adaptation reflects one of life’s greatest strengths—the ability to adapt when circumstances unexpectedly change.
That belief comes from personal experience.
Years ago, I unexpectedly lost kidney function and spent two years on dialysis. My life changed dramatically overnight. After receiving a kidney transplant, I gained a renewed appreciation for health and learned that adapting is about much more than surviving. It is about finding new ways to move forward with purpose, independence, and hope.
That experience became the inspiration for Adaptation.
Throughout my professional life, I have worked to help people navigate major life transitions. As the founder and president of an international adoption agency for more than two decades, I witnessed the power of compassion, resilience, and community support. Although Adaptation serves a different need, it is built on the same belief: people can overcome life’s greatest challenges when they are not facing them alone.
Today, Adaptation carries that philosophy forward by helping people overcome practical barriers that stand between them and the medical care they need.
Helping people adapt to life’s medical challenges by overcoming barriers to receiving care.
A community where no one delays or forgoes needed medical care because they lack support, companionship, or practical assistance.
We treat every individual with kindness, respect, and understanding.
We promote independence while providing practical support that respects each person’s choices.
Clients, families, and healthcare providers can depend on us to be there when it matters most.
We act honestly, ethically, and responsibly in everything we do.
We believe that caring communities help people adapt, heal, and thrive.
Adaptation was founded to address an immediate need: helping people safely access medical care when they lack the support required to do so.
As community needs evolve, Adaptation will continue developing programs that remove barriers to receiving healthcare while remaining true to its mission of helping people adapt to life’s medical challenges.
People are remarkably resilient. Sometimes they simply need someone beside them as they adapt to life’s medical challenges.
We will always strive to treat every person with compassion, respect, and dignity while helping them receive the healthcare they need.
